No.
However, this does not necessarily mean that my services are not covered under your health insurance plan.
If your health insurance plan has "out-of-network" benefits, you can receive reimbursement for a portion of the cost of our sessions. Call your insurance provider and ask if your plan reimburses for mental health services from out-of-network providers, and whether or not a deductible needs to be met for those benefits to kick in.
If you would like to use your out-of-network benefits, let me know. I can provide you with a monthly "superbill" that you would submit to your insurance company for this purpose.
$200 per 50 minute session
$300 per 75-80 minute session*
*75-80 minute sessions are always planned for ahead of time and are most often used for EMDR trauma processing sessions and couples therapy.
You have a right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have a right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Yes.
In my attempt to right some of the wrongs of our broken healthcare system, I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots on my caseload.
It is important that my full rate be paid by all who can afford it.
I can only implement a sliding scale because individuals with enough resources choose to budget for my services. Please review your finances and budget for my full fee.
If, however, my areas of specialization are in alignment with your needs and, after considering all the resources available to you, you determine that my full rate is not possible to accommodate, please reach out to see if I have any openings on my sliding scale.
I cannot slide my fee if you will be submitting for reimbursement from your insurance.
Yes!
I provide consultation services to other therapists who are seeking to gain competence in working with clients with an LDS background and/or LDS-related religious trauma.
I can help you to understand the impact of LDS membership on your client's presenting problems and, depending on your training and therapeutic approach, assist you in your integration of EMDR and/or IFS for LDS-related religious trauma.
My current rate is $100 per 50 minutes.
I wish I could!
While some therapists choose to expand their practice outside of the states they are licensed in (as coaches), I do not. I only practice psychotherapy in the states I am licensed in.
I currently only offer therapy sessions virtually, from my home office to your screen.
Yes.
I am, first and foremost, a trauma therapist. My mission is to help people to heal from trauma, regardless of their spiritual beliefs.
I frequently work with current members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to heal from trauma. The feedback I get from these clients is that they appreciate that I understand LDS doctrine and culture. It allows them to get to the meat of what is distressing them, without having to explain a bunch of stuff to get me up to speed.
I will not try to lead you away from your faith. Before I was an Ex-Mormon, I was a Mormon. And I would have wanted a compassionate therapist back then who understood me. I'm confident I can be that therapist for you.
My only caveat is that, if you describe an abusive situation, I will name it. It doesn't matter if that abuse is happening in a romantic relationship, a friendship, or from a religious leader. I consider it my ethical duty to name abuse. I am unapologetic about this, which I hope you can respect.
You deserve relief and healing. Let me help you.
